Lane shifts, closures planned on Poplar and bypass

There will be some lane shifts and closures this week in the area around the planned I-85 interchange at Poplar Road for soils and pavement analysis work.
Since the concept for the interchange has been chosen, the contractor will be doing this work as the beginnings of the preliminary engineering, said Patricia Palmer, county public affairs director.
The lane shifts and closures will be on Poplar Road, Newnan Crossing Bypass, and Newnan Crossing Boulevard on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 2 and 3.
No route will ever be completely closed, but travelers should use caution in the area and expect some minimal delays, Palmer said.
