In 2011, the town of Sharpsburg in southeast Coweta County paved a 1,050-foot-long alley adjoining 13 parcels of land owned by four different individuals or entities.
The cost for gravel, stone, asphalt and labor was $11,282.39. Title insurance was $3,411.
Documents obtained by The Newnan Times-Herald under a Fredom of Information Act request show the total cost of getting Stovall Alley — sometimes referred to as Stovall Street — paved, was more than $55,000, since the cost to get clear title to the alley property presumably already owned by the town exceeded $41,000.
