In anticipation of an expected zombie attack, don’t be surprised to hear gunfire around the Caldwell Tanks area in downtown Newnan on Friday night.
Stalwart Films LLC will be filming scenes for the AMC television series “The Walking Dead” at that location in the area of East Broad Street on Thursday and Friday nights.
“All of the filming will consist of night work,” according to a City of Newnan press release. “There will be periods of sporadic, simulated gunfire, which will occur Friday night during filming.”
In other words, don’t freak out if you hear gunfire and see zombies falling. At least that’s what we hope what will happen, because if the zombies get guns ...
“Due to the complex nature of the scenes, the assistance of off-duty Newnan Police officers will be on hand to insure the safety of the public and for that of the crew during their time in the city,” city officials said in the prepared statement.
And, hopefully, to ensure the zombies stay where they are supposed to and don’t get access to weapons.
Anyone with questions may call the Stalwart Films Locations Department at 678-723-1000.
