State Representative Lynn Smith, R-Newnan, was host to two members of Gov. Nathan Deal’s staff Friday during their visit to Coweta County.
Julia Taff and Danielle Pascual both serve as legislative liaisons for the governor, Taff with the House of Representatives and Pascual with both the House and Senate.
While in Coweta County, Taff and Pascual visited several sites, including downtown Newnan and the Chattahoochee Bend State Park. The two hiked the two-mile River Trail with Smith.
“It was a great place,” Taff said. “We came to get more familiar with Coweta County and find out what’s going on and we really did.”
“The park was great,” Pascual said. “It is really a great attraction that will cetertainly be good for Coweta County. But we were impressed with everything we saw down here.”
Both women said they hoped to return.
“I’m glad they could come,” Smith said. “It was a great way to give them a feel for the character of Coweta County and see the diversity we have here, that we are really a mix of urban, suburban and rural places. Coweta County is huge and we want people to be aware of all it has to offer.”
