Fischer Crossings in foreclosure listings
By SARAH FAY CAMPBELLsarah@newnan.com
A large portion of the Fischer Crossing development on Hwy. 34 at Fischer Road is listed in the foreclosure advertisements in today’s legal section of The Newnan Times-Herald.
The advertisement includes much of the development on the northeast corner of Fischer and Hwy. 34, except for the property owned by NCG Cinemas and property conveyed to Coweta County through right-of-way deeds.
The Fischer Crossing foreclosure is one of 185 foreclosure notices in today’s Times-Herald legals. That number is down from 214 foreclosure-related advertisements in May, but it’s still the second highest monthly number for 2012.
The majority of properties listed this month are single-family residences.
The other two commercial listings are the gym and other property on a 1.45-acre lot on Sullivan Road near Hwy. 34, and Springhill Suites, 1119 Hwy. 34 East. The Sullivan Road property is owned by PPL Enterprises, Inc. It was purchased in 2003 for $950,000.
Springhill Suites has been listed every month since February.
It is still open for business.
The properties in the June foreclosure advertisements are set to be auctioned on the courthouse steps on July 3.
According to RealtyTrac, one out of every 404 housing units in Coweta received a foreclosure filing in April. That’s down quite a bit from previous months. In March, one out of every 351 units received a foreclosure notice. In January, it was one out of every 383.
