A Peachtree City publisher of educational books and materials for children got a new book about President-Elect Barack Obama out the day after the election.
Thousands of copies of "Barack Obama: America's 44th President" were shipped by Gallopade International in Peachtree City on Nov. 5. The book , Georgia. They hit a publishing home run November 5--the day after the historic election-- researched and written by Carole Marsh -- is aimed at ages 7-14.
Marsh also produced an "instant" book on what we now call "911"--a mere four days after the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
"Kids have questions now," Marsh said. "It's someone's job to answer them."
The 40-page reproducible Obama book covers the complete who, what, when, where, why, how, and more of the new president-elect, his wife, children, and all things presidential, such as their new home, new Secret Service friends, and more in a factual, graphic, entertaining and educational way. There also are activities for children to complete to add to the fun and understanding.
"Adults are patient," says Marsh. "Kids aren't. They were totally engaged in this election. They know who won. And now, they want to know more. After all, Barack Obama is their president, too."
Marsh is author of many award-winning fiction and non-fiction children's books. In 2007, she was named Georgia Author of the Year for Middle Readers. She is the founder and CEO of Gallopade.
