Monica Lovett is the second and third grade behavioral support teacher at Northside Elementary School in Newnan. This year is her 16th as a teacher.

Why did you become a teacher? 

I’ve always loved kids. I’ve always had a drive to teach.

What is your favorite part? 

The challenge and seeing them acknowledge they have been successful.

If you were not a teacher, what would you be doing? 

I would want to be a nutritionist or personal trainer.

What do you do for fun? 

Exercise, spend time with my family, and the beach.

What is your favorite movie? 

Parental Guidance

Do you have a family? 

I’m married with with children – a son and a daughter.

What is the one thing you want your students to learn? 

I really try to teach independence. That they can do it, and to have the courage to do it.

What are you looking forward to this year? 

To meet new students and try to inspire them.
