Angela Rembert

Angela Rembert has been teaching for 17 years, with six years in Coweta County. Currently, she teaches seventh grade language arts at Madras Middle School.

Why did you become a teacher?

Since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. I have a knack for sharing knowledge and helping other people realize their own intelligence. Then they develop that confidence. I think of myself as wind beneath wings. My goal is that students are able to soar higher and realize greater dreams with the guidance and commitment of devoted teachers like me.

What is your favorite part?

Seeing students realize their own success when they feel better about themselves. At the end of the year when I have to answer their questions. They can answer them and help each other.

If you were not a teacher, what would you be doing?

I would like to work for Google. I don’t know what I would do there, but it looks like a cool place to work.

What do you do for fun?

Baseball. My son plays it. Everything else can be going on but when you’re there it’s like you’re in another world.

What is your favorite movie?

“To Kill a Mockingbird”

What is the one thing you want your students to learn?

To learn to ask those critical questions. I feel like they too easily accept what the teacher says. I want the student to take the information I give them and ask questions.

What are your summer plans?

I’m looking forward to a girls trip to Turks and Caico in July.
