Josh Stanley’s art work, “Mother Mary,” earned first place at the local Kiwanis Club art show, and he was able to participate in their state art event.

The first place and overall winners of the Coweta County local Kiwanis Club combined art and music competition on March 9 participated in the state event in Carollton on April 26.

Trinity High School students Josh Stanley and Sabina Acuff both moved to the state competition for their art work. Stanley’s piece was a pencil drawing, “Mother Mary,” and Acuff’s was a pen and ink and colored pencil drawing of her cat, Tiny.

In the state competition, Acuff’s picture of Tiny also earned first place in the ninth grade division.

“Sabina has tremendous talent and is growing her artistic ability daily,” said Trinity High School Art Teacher, Amy Simonton. “Her dedication to excellence is to be commended. It is truly a pleasure to teach such a fine young lady.”
