Coweta holds Science and Engineering Fair

The 2014 Coweta County School System Science and Engineering Fair was held earlier this year at the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts.

Ten schools and 120 students were represented at the program, including the Eighth Grade Charter and Career Academy at the Central Education Center. Twenty-four students were first place finishers and earned a spot representing Coweta at the West Georgia Regional Science and Engineering Fair at the University of West Georgia at the beginning of February.

In addition to Coweta, the regional fair features projects from students in Carroll, Douglas, Haralson, Heard, Meriwether, Polk, and Troup Counties. Madras Middle School student Stephen, Haley Barnett of Northgate High School, and Courtney Hutchinson fromECHS, were all winners at the regional fair. They and the other regional winners are eligible to participate in the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair at the University of Georgia on March 28.
