Locals earn Clayton State degrees

Newnan resident Tiffany Monik White was awarded her master of health administration degree from Clayton State University during the university’s commencement ceremonies in December. Clayton State also awarded graduate degrees to Peachtree City residents Jessica Vickson and Steven Higgs. Vickson earned an MBA while Higgs was awarded a master of health administration.

Slagle makes Dean’s List

Toby Slagle of Sharpsburg was named to Carson-Newman University's Dean's List for the fall 2013 semester. Students earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while taking 12 or more credit hours at the Jefferson City, Tenn. school are awarded the distinction.

Abraham named to Dean’s List

Kyle Abraham of Sharpsburg has achieved a place on the University of Evansville Dean's List for academic achievements during the fall 2013 semester. Abraham is majoring in theatre management. To make the Dean's List, a student at UE in Indiana must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Two area students awarded degrees

Georgia College located in Milledgeville has awarded degrees to Rachel Bryan of Newnan and Katherine Strickland of Palmetto.

Thomas named to Dean’s List

John William Thomas of Newnan was named to Wofford College's fall 2013 Dean's List. To be named to the Dean's List at the Spartanburg, S.C. college, a student must be enrolled for at least 12 semester hours of graded courses and attain a semester grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

Strother makes Dean’s List

Janae Strother of Newnan was named to the Dean's List at Beloit College for the fall 2013 semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or higher and take a minimum of three letter-graded units for the term. Beloit College is located in Wisconsin.

Freund named to Dean’s List

Kevin Freund of Newnan qualified for the fall 2013 Dean's List at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Gray named to Dean’s List

Amelia Gray of Newnan has been named to the Dean's List at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. for the Advent 2013 term. To earn a place on university’s Dean's List, a student must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.625 on a 4.0 scale.

Keith-Wilkinson earns a master’s degree

Tammie Jo Keith-Wilkinson of Hogansville graduated from the Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. during the fall 2013 commencement. Keith-Wilkinson earned a master of science in nursing.

Locals make the Dean’s List at LaGrange

The following Newnan area students were recently named to the LaGrange College fall semester Dean’s List: Savannah Morgan Bracewell, Lauren Elizabeth Brandner, Jordin Elizabeth Dombrosky, Teresa Lee Foshee, Kimberly Ann Harris, Marlana Renee Hurst, Angela Marie Hutchins, John Tylor Hepner, Brittany Sewell Leatherwood, Steven Arthur Porrello, James William Scruggs, Tracy Michelle Seiler, Daryn Lee Thompson, Summer Alexandria Vo, Amanda Lynn Wood, and Jasmine Miriah Clark. To be eligible for this honor, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.6 while taking a minimum course load of 12 hours.
