Shorter announces Dean’s List

Shorter University in Rome has announced its spring 2013 Dean’s List honorees. To achieve this honor, students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours and earn at least a 3.5 grade point average for the term. Students making the Dean’s List include from Newnan, Stanley Arnold, Edith Avila, Christopher Beno, Nicole Elder, Leslie Johnson, Kevin Jones and Kaitlyn Talley; from Sharpsburg, Landon Allensworth, Cassie Brown and Brenna Moore. Also making the Dean’s List were Megan Burrell of Moreland and Christina Ezell of Senoia.

Wakefield makes UT Dean’s List

Katherine Wakefield of Coweta County was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester 2013 at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Students who make a 3.2 or higher semester grade point average are awarded the honor.

Brown-Mcloughlin named to Hofstra’s Dean’s List

Rachel Brown-Mcloughlin of Newnan has made the spring 2013 Dean's List at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. She is majoring in marketing.

Local students earn Tech Faculty Honors

The following students earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for spring 2013 at the Georgia Institute of Technology: Julie Bergen of Brooks; William Pettyjohn and Jacqueline Sample, both of Fayetteville; Alexander Hanson, Joel Prock, Andrew Traylor, Jared Davis, and Audrey Shaak, all of Newnan; and Elizabeth Evans of Sharpsburg. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 4.0 academic average for the semester.

This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.
