Erika O'Reilly wins 2013 DAR Good Citizen Award

Erika O’Reilly of Peachtree City was the recent recipient of the General Daniel Newnan Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Good Citizen Award.
O’Reilly’s essay on “How our Freedoms and Responsibilities as Good Citizens is Changing” was perfectly on topic and from the perspective of our young Americans of today, said chapter members.
At the February meeting of the General Daniel Newnan Chapter of the DAR, O’Reilly was presented with the Good Citizen Pin, a Certificate of Award, and a check for $300 by Judy Gagliano, the Chapter Good Citizen Committee chairman.
Also, in attendance were O’Reilly’s parents, sisters and several members of the Marquis De Lafayette Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Other essay entries were submitted by Avery Weatherford, Northgate High School; Annastesia Holcombe, East Coweta High School; Cheney Thomasson, The Heritage School; and Kimberly Obermeyer, Newnan High School.
The General Daniel Newnan Chapter, DAR, meets monthly on the third Saturday and welcomes guests and prospective members.
