The Campus to partner with SCTC for classes

The Campus in Peachtree City has announced it will partner with Southern Crescent Technical College to offer classes in a variety of career fields beginning in January.
Through the program, area students — and adults interested in continuing their education — will have the opportunity to enroll in technical classes on Monday and Wednesday afternoons at The Campus, supervised by its staff members.
“This program will allow us the opportunity to present students with field-specific coursework and job readiness skills that would allow them to be competitive in the workforce,” said Evelyn Plott, founder and director of The Campus.
Upon completion of the coursework, students will receive a certificate that will assist them in taking the next step in their fields of study. Students could opt to continue onward in that field for an associate’s degree or enter the workforce. For example, early childhood education coursework could culminate with a certification for a daycare worker.
Class size will be limited and prospective students must successfully complete the COMPASS test – offered at The Campus – before enrolling.
An information session is planned for Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at The Campus, 300 Tivoli Gardens in Peachtree City. Plott and a representative from Southern Crescent Technical College will be on hand to answer questions.
