U.S. News & World Report has ranked the University of West Georgia No. 46 among the South’s public universities and No. 91 regionally among public and private universities.
The rankings are a first for the Level VI SACS-accredited institution, which added to its doctoral programs in July when it conferred its first Ph.D. in psychology.
“We are very pleased that the latest U.S. News rankings place UWG among the best regional universities and the best public universities in the South,” said Dr. Beheruz N. Sethna, president of UWG.
“It is a just tribute to the wonderful credentials and work of our excellent faculty and staff, and worthy recognition for our wonderful students. I am confident that UWG will continue its journey onward and upward,” added Sethna, who will retire next year.
U.S. News & World Report also included UWG in its nationwide Best Graduate School Rankings, which featured UWG as the No. 161 Best Education School and its nursing program at No. 357.
UWG ranked No. 309 nationally in Best Undergraduate Business Programs as well.
Rankings also were released for top online program areas, and UWG cracked the top 100 in faculty credentials and training, student services and technology and student engagement and accreditation.
