Seniors at Coweta County high schools rallied their friends and family to test-drive new cars at SouthTowne Motors, resulting in checks for each of their schools.
East Coweta High School received a donation of $3,800, The Heritage School $1,700 and Northgate and Newnan high schools $500 each after every supporter – ages 18 and older – who came in to test-drive a vehicle netted a $50 for his or her school.
“This was the second year we took part in the event and look forward to participating for many years to come,” Mader added.
The Chevy Drive For Perfection is a program presented by Chevrolet and the local Georgia Best Chevy dealers in conjunction with the Atlanta Area Schools. The program was created to give seniors an additional incentive to finish their high school careers strong with an exemplary attendance record.
Along with raising money by taking test drives, seniors had a chance to win a brand new 2012 Chevy Cruze or Chevy Sonic if they had 98 percent or better attendance with no unexcused absences.
