Arts & Entertainment Briefs: Centre announces American Boychoir concert March 12

The American Boychoir School will be in concert at the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts in Newnan on March 12 at 7 p.m.

Regarded as the United States' premier boys' concert choir, the group is based in Princeton, N.J. Boys in grades 4 through 8 are members of the choir. The group has performed with internationally renowned soprano Jessye Norman, prominent jazz musician Wynton Marsalis, Beyoncé, and at Carnegie Hall with Sir Paul McCartney.

The concert is sponsored by the Patrons of the Centre. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students, and $10 for senior citizens (55 years and older).

CORNER ARTS GALLERY FEATURES PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT

"Faces and Places" featuring Wanda Carroll's photography is the current art exhibit at the Corner Arts Gallery, located at 14 Jefferson St. in Newnan.

The gallery will be having a mixed medium show in March. For an online entry form, go to www.cornerartsgallery . The deadline for entries will be Feb. 23.

Gallery hours to view the exhibits are Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and, Saturdays 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

NITWITS ON STAGE THIS WEEKEND

The NITWITS comedy improv troupe returns to the Newnan Community Theatre Company (NCTC) this evening and Saturday night at 8. Friday is a special "warm up show" for the knock-down, drag-out affair on Saturday, so tickets on Friday are only $2.50.

Saturday night tickets are $5 each.

ONE ROOF ACCEPTING PHOTO EXHIBIT ENTRIES

One Roof Ecumenical Alliance Outreach in Newnan will be holding a juried photography exhibition with a "Family Connection" theme.

Marie Umbach, who is organizing the fundraiser, said she hopes it will become an annual event.

Photographers may enter up to three images, and each photograph should have a "Family Connection" theme.

There is a $25 entry fee for the adult category and $20 for the youth category -- for photographers under 18. Entries must be received by March 1.

One Roof Ecumenical Alliance Outreach, housed in facilities at the old Playtex plant location on Temple Avenue, helps Coweta citizens with a variety of needs. The One Roof building is located at 320-C Temple Ave., west of downtown Newnan.

SACK LUNCH CINEMA AT CARNEGIE

The Carnegie Library will have a viewing of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" on Feb. 15 for its monthly Sack Lunch Cinema program.

The program begins at 11:45 a.m. and guests can bring their own lunch to enjoy.
