FOR BIDS

THERMOPLASTIC STRIPING AND RAISED PAVEMENT MARKER INSTALATION ON VARIOUS COUNTY ROADS

Project Number RB13-10

Separate, sealed bids will be received for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the construction of the aforementioned project.

Bids will be received by the Coweta County Board of Commissioners, Coweta County Georgia, herein referred to as “Owner” and bid documents can be picked up at the Coweta County Transportation & Engineering Office, 21 East Washington Street, Newnan, Georgia until 10:45 a.m. (local time) on Thursday, May 30, 2013. After such time on the same day at 11:00 a.m., bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Coweta County Administration Office, 22 East Broad Street, Newnan, Georgia. Bids received after the designated time will not be considered. Bids shall be clearly marked and sealed.

The Major Items of Work Consist of:

• Traffic Control

• Thermoplastic Striping

• Raised Pavement Markers

Work is as specified in the Bid Document and is to be done in accordance with current or attached GDOT standards and specifications.

The Instruction to Bidders, form of Bid, form of Contract, Drawings, forms of Bid Bond, Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and other contract documents are available for review at the Coweta County Transportation and Engineering office located at 21 E. Washington Street, Newnan Georgia, 30263 (770-683-2300). Bid Documents and Specifications may be obtained at the above address for the cost of $25.00 each.

No bid will be accepted from a bidder who has not obtained a set of bid documents from the above-mentioned office. No bid will be accepted from a bidder who does not meet the pre-qualification requirements outlined in paragraph 2.01 in section titled “Instructions to Bidders”.

Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond prepared on an accepted form, duly executed by the bidder, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid.

Owner reserves the right to waive any formality or informality or to reject any or all bids, to evaluate bids, and to accept any bid which in its opinion may be for the best interest of Owner. Owner has the right to add to and delete from the contract once it has been awarded. Award, if award is made, will be to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.

The successful bidder for this contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond and labor and material payment bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

PROPOSALS

Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Grantville at Glanton Municipal Complex, 123 Lagrange Street, Grantville, GA 30220 until Wednesday, March 20th, 2013 @ 1:30 p.m. local time. Late bids will not be considered and will not be returned.

For the project known as: Spray Park

The OWNER of the project is the City of Grantville.

The work to be bid consists of furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and services required to construct a Spray/Splash Park.

Project Specifications and Proposal Documents are available from the City Clerk at Glanton Municipal Complex on Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. The Bid Bond may be in the form of a surety issued bond or cashier’s check made payable to the City of Grantville. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to the City of Grantville as liquidated damages if the bidder fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within fifteen (15) days after being notified that he has been awarded the Contract.

Surety and insurance companies must have an AM Best rating of A-6 or greater, be listed in the Federal Registry of Companies holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, be licensed by the Georgia Insurance Department and the Georgia Secretary of State to do business in the State of Georgia.

Each proposal must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE, addressed to the OWNER. Each sealed envelope containing a Bid must be plainly marked on the outside as, “Spray Park.” If bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope to the attention of the OWNER at the address previously given.

Proposals may not be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the time and date set for closing, except as allowed by OCGA. The City of Grantville reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any technicalities.
