Business Briefs: Josette Remotigue joins Youth Villages

Josette Remotigue of Newnan has joined Youth Villages as a teacher/counselor at the Youth Villages-Inner Harbour Campus in Douglasville, which provides residential treatment services for children with emotional, behavioral and mental health issues.

Remotigue holds a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast and is pursuing a master's degree in social work from the University of Alabama.

A native of Cincinnati, Remotigue has four children: Carisa, 26, Eric, 25, Brandon, 24, and Nicholas, 22.

Youth Villages, a private nonprofit organization dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families live successfully, is one of the largest private providers of services to children and families in Georgia.

GALLERY FEATURES PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT

"Faces and Places" featuring Wanda Carroll's photography is the current art exhibit at the Corner Arts Gallery, 14 Jefferson St. in downtown Newnan.

The gallery will be having a mixed medium show in March. For an online entry form, go to www.cornerartsgallery . The deadline for entries will be Feb. 23.

Gallery hours to view the exhibits are Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and, Saturdays 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

CHICK-FIL-A PARTNERS FOR MLK DAY OF SERVICE

Eleven Chick-fil-A restaurants provided breakfast and lunch to some 520 Georgia Power volunteers participating in 19 different service projects around Metro Atlanta -- including in Coweta County -- for a day of service on the recent Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.

Georgia Power employees have made this day of service a company tradition for the past 11 years, said company spokesperson Carol Boatright. For the past five years Chick-fil-A has worked in tandem with Georgia Power to enhance the community effort.

The Georgia Power volunteers worked sorting food at the Coweta Community Food Pantry, housed with One Roof on Temple Avenue in Newnan, and assisted with renovations at a home in south Coweta County with Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity.
