What inspired you to start you own business?

I love music and entertaining. I went through high school and even college and never did anything with my music. I worked for a company for two years, thinking I had it going on. They switched to electronic meters. When I got laid off, I made the decision. Before I start looking for another job and working for someone else, I might as well do something I really love and make people happy at the same time. Our events are always entertaining and that is what our clients pay for. They are looking for entertainment, not just someone who sits there, plays music and isn’t interacting with guests. Now that I get to expand to the southwest side of the Atlanta area, along with my base here in Coweta, it just shows that I must be doing something right.

What's the best part about your job?

Knowing that I have everybody up and dancing and having a great time. So many of my brides and grooms expressed their concern during the reception preparation that most people won't dance. However, as the reception goes on, you can see their eyes light up because the grandmother or Aunt Sally is up and dancing with grandpa or Uncle Roy. Since I do many performance-style events, there are quite a few people that have gone on to have careers in the music industry due to one of our contests or simply having regular shows due to one of our events. It's nice to know we could be a part of that.

Who has played a significant role in your life and why?

There are two: God and my mom. Yes, I have to acknowledge that I have prayed and searched for God's guidance in everything that I have endeavored to do. Where else can you play Christian/Faith inspired music in multiple locations and have people love the music? My mom always encouraged me throughout high school and college with my music, singing and performing. Now, through my business, I actually use and put into practice those things each and every day. Every time I send her a picture of a place that has my name, or a poster or flyer with my event, it makes her day. Besides, I use a few “momma” references in many of my events and people get to relate and love it.
