Chamber Golf Classic May 7

The 29th annual Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic, presented by Piedmont Healthcare and Canongate Golf Clubs, will be held Wednesday, May 7.

Team, sponsorship and “expo on the green” sign up is now open, as is volunteer sign up. There will also be a $1,500 ball drop.

Blimpie celebrates 50th birthday

Blimpie stores around the U.S. celebrated the chain’s 50th anniversary on April 4. The sandwich chain began when three high school friends in Hoboken, N.J. set out to create the greatest sub sandwich on the planet. They called it a Blimpie because they thought it resembled a blimp.

In celebration of the anniversary, local stores offered 50-cent Blimpie Best subs to the first 200 customers on April 4.

Regional Power Lunch April 29

The Georgia Chamber regional “Power Lunch” will be held April 29 at the KIA Georgia Training Center in West Point. Georgia Chamber Board Chair Ernest Greer and Chamber President and CEO Chris Clark will speak at the luncheon.

J. Smith Lanier Charity Golf Classic celebrates 10 years

The 10th anniversary of the J. Smith Lanier & Co. Charity Golf Classic, to benefit the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children, will be held Tuesday, May 6 at Chateau Élan Golf Club.

The two-event tournament begins with a sponsor reception and silent auction at the Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta Wednesday evening. Brain Tumor Foundation for Children children and families will be in attendance at the reception.
