Estes honored by UGA Alumni Association

Robert Estes and Travis Cliett of Estes Landscape Design Inc. were recently honored by the University of Georgia Alumni Association as part of the 2014 Bulldog 100.

The annual Bulldog 100 list recognizes the 100 fastest growing businesses that are owned or operated by UGA Alumni.

The Bulldog 100 Celebration was held Jan. 25 at the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta. Hall of Fame quarterback Fran Tarkenton was the keynote speaker.

Trevino new brand ambassador for Yamaha Golf-Cars

Legendary golfer Lee Trevino is a new brand ambassador for Yamaha Golf-Cars. Trevino was introduced as the brand ambassador at the PGA Merchandizing Show in Orlando.

The Yamaha Golf-Car Company has been headquartered in Newnan since 1988, and the vehicles are manufactured at the Yamaha facility off Hwy. 34 East.

Trevino bought his first Yamaha Golf Car 22 years ago for getting around his Texas ranch; he bought a second one last spring.

“What a wonderful and prophetic opportunity to be able to welcome Lee Trevino into the Yamaha Golf-Car Company family,” says YGC President Tom McDonald. “It is hard to imagine an iconic figure like Lee having a more tangible connection and high regard for any other brand than he does with Yamaha.”

ReStore has new hours

The Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity ReStore has new hours. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Donations are accepted from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

The store now offers online free pickup scheduling for donations.

The store currently has a full stock of new lighting fixtures, from hanging fixtures to floor and table top lamps, an assortment of used appliances backed by a 90-day warranty, and a large stock of furniture, including sofa bed, club chairs, desk and night stands, recently donated by a local hotel.

Monkey Joe’s celebrates birthday Feb. 17.

Monkey Joe’s is hosting the second annual nationwide birthday celebration of its namesake, Monkey Joe, on Feb. 17, President’s Day. It’s a customer appreciation day offering a $1 slice of pizza for the first 100 children and a free Saturn flying disk for the first 200 children. There will also be a special birthday celebration.

Chamber annual meeting luncheon rescheduled for March 5.

The Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce “Magic of Prosperity” Annual Meeting Luncheon has been rescheduled for March 5 at the Newnan Centre. The luncheon was originally set for Jan. 30 but was postponed because of weather-related road conditions.
