Chamber honors volunteers, ambassadors

The Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce recently honored its volunteers and ambassadors of the quarter, for the first three quarters of 2013.

"Chambers of commerce are beehives of activity," said Chamber President Candace Boothby. "The many events, presentations and general programs that are conducted easily overwhelm the small staffs of all chambers, yet the work is at the heart of what a chamber does. Without the help of our volunteers, the accomplishments that our members are so proud of could never be achieved."

"The work of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber is greatly enhanced by its wonderful volunteers, enabling staff and Board leaders to accomplish more and at a higher plateau than would otherwise be possible," said Chamber President Candace Boothby. "However, the glue of the volunteer brigade is our terrific Ambassador corps, those “blue Chamber shirted” workers who help our members get connected, meet others and, in general, enjoy an incredible experience."

Andy Miller of Print Source was ambassador of the quarter for the first quarter.

"Andy is easily recognizable at Chamber functions by his always-present smile and his height," said Boothby. "He has been a blessing to the Chamber through his constant support and leadership and the Chamber is proud to recognize him as our 1st Quarter Ambassador of the Quarter."

Samantha Brazie of Progressive Heating and Air was chosen for the second quarter.

"Samantha is one of the more readily seen Ambassadors as she is greatly involved in other Chamber and community work," said Boothby. "We thank her for her drive and spirit for all of Coweta County."

Karen Kurtz was chosen for the third quarter.

"The Chamber is pleased to recognize the hard work and dedication of Karen as she volunteers on the Ambassador team at all grand openings and other events," said Boothby. "A big thank you to Karen and congratulations on a job well done!"

Victoria Ellison of the Bank of North Georgia was named Volunteer of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2013.

"Victoria’s contributions to the Chamber and our community-at-large include chairing the YP program (Young Professionals) and her role on the Board of Directors for Leadership Coweta," said Boothby. "This work is so important to our future in the development and encouragement of the next generation of community leaders that will keep Coweta County in the strong leadership trajectory that we are experiencing."

Sharon Rogers of GNC was named Volunteer of the Quarter for the second quarter.

"One of the Chamber’s most successful and anticipated annual special events is the Golf Classic," said Boothby. "It is a challenge our volunteers tackle each year in an attempt to make that year’s effort even more special than before. Sharon accepted responsibility for the 2013 Golf Classic’s “Expo- on- the- Green” including recruiting volunteers, procuring maps and other materials and supplies and then making sure it all came together."

Mark Fritz of Bank of North Georgia was Volunteer of the Quarter for the third quarter.

"Mark is highly involved with Chamber programs all year long but deserved special recognition as the 3rd Quarter Volunteer because of his continuing efforts to bring large and small businesses together for growth and procurement," Boothby said. "Mark recently helped coordinate the Industry Benchmarking Engagement Series and has volunteered his considerable photographic skills to visually record many Chamber special events."
