Rieder earns American Star Excellence Certification

David Rieder, an American Family Insurance agent in Peachtree City, has been recognized for providing outstanding customer experience under the American Star Excellence in Customer Experience Certification. Rieder joins other American Family agents who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to outstanding customer service.

Rieder, a Coweta resident, has been an agent for American Family since October 2009. His office, the David Rieder Agency, is located at 2733 W. Hwy. 54.

The distinction is determined through an evaluation process that includes a customer satisfaction survey which measures customers' overall experience with their current American Family agent. Only agencies in the top 20 percent of all agencies nationwide, based on the surveys, are eligible to become American Star Excellence in Customer Experience certified.

 Clean Air Campaign calling for PACE Awards entries from Newnan employers

Each year the Clean Air Campaign hosts the PACE Awards program, which recognizes the success of employers, property managers, schools and individuals in advancing the promise of cleaner air and less traffic.

Applications are now available for employers, property managers and schools to showcase their actions.

Entry forms are due by 4 p.m. Aug. 30, and winners will be announced at the PACE Awards ceremony on Nov. 13.

This year’s competition will once again honor the best commute options programs in the region for innovative practices that encourage more commuters to carpool, vanpool, ride transit, telework, bicycle and walk. Platinum Partner workplaces and Clean Air Commuter Champions whose actions have kept at least 50,000 pounds of pollution out of the air will also be recognized.

Awards will be presented in categories including Best Overall Program for private sector employers and property managers, Government Champions for public sector employers, Most Innovative Commute Options Program for private, public, and property managers, the Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner's Award, Telework Catalyst, School Champions, and UPS Exemplary Diesel Idle Reduction Partner.

Parker recognized by Allstate

Allstate agency owner Dianne Parker of Dianne Parker and Associates has been designated an Allstate Premier Agency for 2013.

The designation is bestowed on roughly 38 percent of Allstate's nearly 10,000 agency owners across the country.

The Premier Agency designation is awarded to Allstate agency owners who have demonstrated excellence in delivering an accessible, knowledgeable and personal customer experience, and in achieving outstanding business results.

Tenaska awards $2,000 in college scholarships

Tenaska Georgia Partners L.P., owner of the Tenaska Georgia Generating Station in Heard County near the Coweta County line, recently awarded a total of $2,000 in college scholarships to two Heard County High School seniors.

Since 2002, the company has presented 35 scholarships to local students, totaling $23,500.

Recipients must demonstrate good character, academic achievement and leadership. This year's recipients were Alyssa Bishop, daughter of Eddy and Kimberly Bishop, and Brent Callahan, son of Mark and Diana Callahan.

Tenaska Georgia is a 945 megawatt natural gas fired plant which produces electricity for sale to Exelon Generation Company LLC, which markets the power in the region.
