Kohl’s is picking up the tab for one shopper every day, through Dec. 24, at every Kohl’s store and at Kohl’s.com.
A shopper will be picked at random every day at each of the 1,146 Kohl’s stores and on the store’s website. Kohl’s will pay for each winner’s entire purchase. Winners will also receive a $10 transferable promotional gift so they can help “pay it forward” by giving to someone else for this holiday season.
Additionally, for every new person who “likes” Kohl’s Facebook page from Nov. 23 to Dec. 24, Kohl’s will donate $1 to Toys for Tots, up to $500,000.

ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE 'DAYS OF GIVING' GRANTS FROM WELLS FARGO
Bridging the Gap Community Outreach, Angel’s House and Special Olympics Georgia of Coweta County were the local recipients of Days of Giving grants from Wells Fargo bank.

Each organization received a $1,000 grant. The Wells Fargo program began in Georgia four years ago, and has awarded over $1 million in grants to Georgia organizations.

A total of 251 Georgia groups received grants this year. The local organizations were among 62 groups that received checks at a community breakfast held at Clayton State University.

Wells Fargo also announced that it is encouraging all the groups honored, and others, to take part in Georgia Gives Day on Thursday. Georgia Gives is a statewide campaign to encourage people to support nonprofits. Wells Fargo is helping the effort as a corporate sponsor and by getting the word out to customers through its bank stores.

“It’s great the Days of Giving has surpassed the million-dollar mark. And supporting Georgia Gives Day is a way to provide even more help,” said Chad Gregory, area president.

Wells Fargo Atlanta team members also support the United Way, and this year pledged $1.27 million — 35 percent more than last year.

Groups receiving the Days of Giving grants were selected by team members at Wells Fargo bank stores and other business lines for the work they are doing in the team members’ local areas.

“This illustrates our desire to be locally focused as America’s community bank,” said Gregory. “And just the names of the groups selected show their passion to help special people who need it.”

AARON'S NAMED FINALIST FOR HIRING OUR HEROES PROGRAM
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and its National Chamber Foundation has named Aaron’s a finalist for the Hiring Our Heroes Capital One Award for Small Business Veteran and Military Spouse Employment.

Aaron’s is among 25 businesses nominated for five awards because of demonstrated leadership in addressing the challenges faced by veterans, transitioning service members and military families in their search for meaningful employment.

The announcement comes as Hiring Our Heroes crossed the 14,000-hire milestone since the program began in March 2011. The program is a nationwide effort to help veterans and military spouses find employment.

“Aaron’s is a tremendous example of an employer that has stepped up not only to hire talented veterans and military spouses but to recognize the sacrifices they have made in service to our nation,” said Lt. Col. Kevin Schmiegel (Ret.), executive director of the Chamber’s Hiring Our Heroes program. “These 25 employers represent all sectors of the economy, but they share one invaluable quality — they recognize the value of hiring a hero. It is commitment from employers like Aaron’s that has helped create a movement and truly make a difference on the issue of veteran and military spouse unemployment
